Community First Responder


This course provides students with the ability to recognise and treat the four main life threatening conditions :

  • Heart Attack
  • Cardiac Arrest
  • F.B.O.A (Choking)
  • Stroke

This course is Certified by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council P.H.E.C.C,



Candidates learn how to recognise the signs and symptoms of Cardiac Arrest, Foreign Body Airway Obstruction, Stroke and Heart Attack. Upon course completion candidates will be fully competent in the operation of an AED, Adult, Child and Infant CPR as well as in the treatment of Stroke and Heart Attack Patients. This course includes the administration of Asprin. The Cardiac First Responder course is delivered over 4.5 hours.

The max. number of candidates per instructor is 6 as strongly recommended by the P.H.E.C.C This ensures that each candidate receives personal tuition, and constantly performs the required skills ensuing confidence in the candidate.

The course Instructor(s) will be an Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic or Advanced Paramedic registered as an Instructor with
the Pre hospital Emergency Care Council
